Lottery Winner Killed In Home Invasion

A Albany, Georgia, man who won more than $400,000 in the state lottery was killed in a violent home invasion, according to WALB News 10.

20 year old Craigory Burch, Jr. died from gunshot wounds at the home in Fitzgerald, Georgia, he shared with his girlfriend, who escaped harm and ran away and called for help.

Burch had won a $434,272 Fantasy 5 jackpot in November 2015.

His family said he and his girlfriend had used some of the winnings to buy gifts for folks in need over the holidays.

Albany police and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) are looking into the case. No suspects have been named.
