Teen’s Facebook Post leads to Murder Charge

A 14 year old boy and a 21 year old man have been charged with the murder last week of a pizza delivery man–and the 14 year old’s Facebook page helped cops seal the case.

Reginald Lofton, 14, and Jermaine Young, 21, both of Lawrenceville, Georgia, are charged with shooting to death  Shane Varnadore, 28. Police quickly tracked down Lofton and Young and were able to identify the murder weapon on Lofton’s Facebook page, which featured pictures of he and Young holding a gun.

Cops say the gun featured in the pictures is in fact the weapon that was used to kill Varnadore.

Police executed a search warrant on the apartment where Lofton and Young lived, based in part on the Facebook photos, and found the weapon stuffed inside a pancake mix box.

Cops say the two have implicated themselves in the murder, and have blamed each other for being the triggerman.

Lofton, for now, is being held in a juvenile detention facility. No word yet on whether or not he will be charged as an adult.

Young is being held at the Gwinnett County Detention Center.

Both are charged with murder.
