While K. Michelle has been working hard to get her butt smaller, she might have to pucker up and kiss a few butts at Radio One–the national radio and TV heavyweight that she reportedly has pissed off due to some canceled shows.
According to reports, Michelle’s music is now banned on ALL radio stations owned by Radio One. At last check, that was about 55 stations nationwide–including, ironically, Atlanta’s popular 107.9; Michelle is currently featured on Love And Hip Hop Atlanta.
Michelle reportedly bailed on several Radio One-sponsored promotional events, including a breakfast with 50 listeners and K. Michelle fans hosted by WKYS 93.9 FM’s Lil’ Mo and DJ QuickSilva. The breakfast was set to be broadcast on air, but K. Michelle was MIA.
Reportedly, Michelle didn’t want to drive an hour to D.C. from Baltimore to do the events and decided she’d rather sleep instead. OOPS.
That was reportedly it for Radio One. The company’s top boss, Cathy Hughes, dropped the hammer, and mandated the ban-which also includes any music Michelle is featured on.
Not a good look. And its the second time in a month K’s been blacklisted by radio; Power 105.1 banned her after she trashed Breakfast Club co-host Angela Yee live on air.
Michelle recently said she wanted to venture into country music so she might wanna call up Kenny Rogers and The Oak Ridge Boys and see if they can help.
