Beef Over YouTube Video Led To Gainesville Murder?

Gainesville police have charged Ishmael Daniels, 28, with murder in the shooting death of Rashay L. Garrison, also 28, and an aspiring rapper who went by the name “Shay Baby”. Garrison was gunned down around 4 a.m. Monday morning while he sat in his rented Dodge Charger.

According to the Gainesville Sun, police believe Daniels was upset over Garrison posting a video to a song called “Cold Outchea” on YouTube. Its unclear why Daniels became so upset with the video content that he allegedly shot Garrison to death, but cops say a high powered rifle–possibly an AK 47–ended Garrison’s life.

A passenger in the car with Garrison jumped out and ran as the shooting unfolded. That individual suffered minor injuries but was able to give police a description of the car, which turned out to be a rental vehicle.

The Gainesville Sun reports that one of Daniels aliases is “Shay Baby”, according to the state prisons website, which police believe may hint at a motive for the killing.
