The city of Atlanta was awarded the 2019 NFL Super Bowl, and rap fans want two of the city’s most iconic native sons to perform the major event’s halftime show.
Getting the group signed as the headline act has become a Trending Topic on Twitter, and is gaining steam across the web.
One fan has set up a petition page at Change.org.
Its entirely possible fans’ wishes are granted, since Outkast is one of the most preeminent acts from among the many music stars that have emerged from Atlanta. Along with Goodie Mob, many say the duo best represents Atlanta’s urban music scene, sound and history.
Outkast basically split up a decade ago, in 2007. Since then, rumors of an Outkast reunion have not come to fruition.
And dedicated Outkast fans have longed for that Outkast reunion, and many see a Super Bowl performance as a great opportunity for fans to see the duo in action once again.
Sources say both Andre 3000 and Big Boi are already hyped about the chance to take the stage at Atlanta’s first Super Bowl since the year 2000.
