Four Who Streamed Beating Of Mentally Challenged Man To Face Hate Crimes Charges

Four Chicago people–ranging in age from 18 to 24–are facing hate crimes charges in the beating of a mentally challenged 18 year old man whom police say the four held against his will and then beat him for as many as 48 hours, while streaming the incident on Facebook Live.

The video recording is violent and very disturbing, and has gone expectantly viral.

Jordan Hill, 18, Tesfaye Cooper, 18, Brittany Covington, 18, and Tanishia Covington, 24 are facing decades in prison after cops say they tortured the victim, who reportedly was dropped off by his parents at an area McDonald’s to meet Hill, whom he thought was a friend.

But things went in a not so friendly direction, according to police reports. The victim was cut on his scalp, forced to drink water from a toilet, and beaten while someone yelled, “F— Donald Trump!, and “F— white people!””

The case has gained national media attention. The victim is white; the accused perpetrators are all black.
