Bobbi Kristina Biopic Airs On TV One After Bobby Brown Fails To Get It Blocked

The Bobbi Kristina Brown biopic that had so many folks talking aired last night on TV One. The movie almost didn’t make it: Bobbi Kristina’s father, old skool R&B singer Bobby Brown, went to court to try to block the network from airing it: Brown maintained the movie would portray him as an abusive, drug using husband and father.

But the judge in the case wasn’t having it. She used Brown’s own words against him by noting that he himself admitted to having once “smacked” Houston in his 2016 autobiography, “Every Little Step.”

So the movie was greenlighted and aired last night.

The TV One movie stars Joy Rovaris as Bobbi Kristina and Nadji Jeter as her brother slash boyfriend, Nick Gordon. Hassan Johnson plays Bobby Brown, and Demetria McKinney plays Whitney Houston.

Whitney Houston was found dead in a hotel bathtub in 2012; daughter Bobbi Kristina was found unconscious under similar circumstances almost 3 years later. After spending several months in a coma, she passed away in 2015.

In case you missed it, and you probably did since TV one did not do much advance marketing and advertising, the network plans to re-air the bio Tuesday (Oct.10) at 8PM, 7 central Time.
