Troop arrived on the music scene back in 1989 with a BOOM. The Pasadena, California quintet took their unique Soul-heavy R&B sound to the top of the charts, mostly on the strength of their deeply emotional ballads that you knew were instant classics the moment you heard them.
Troop became one of the most beloved bands to emerge from the New Jack Swing era, and would go on to release several monster hits.
But internal squabbles sidelined the group’s continued success. The group fractured in the 90s and were off the radar until 2014, when some of the members reunited for the album, The Return.
