In today’s “Well, Damn” news, nearly 100 year old former President George H.W. Bush has been accused by an actress of touching her behind–twice–while telling her a dirty joke.
The now-93 year old former commander-in-chief didn’t even shake her hand, Heather Lind claims. She says he just went straight for the cakes!
The alleged incident occurred three years ago, at the Houston screening of the AMC series Turn: Washington’s Spies, about America’s first spy ring, which Lind appeared in.
Bush is a former CIA director.
The photo above shows Lind, Bush, his wife and others at the screening. Bush is seen in the wheelchair but that left hand looks like its somewhere that maybe it shouldn’t be, doesn’t it?
Heather Lind went on to say the old man did the deed with his wife, Barbara, standing next to him.
According to Lind, Barb saw the whole thing and, “Just rolled her eyes”.
Interestingly, a spokesperson for the former President issued an apology before the incident even started making the rounds.
In the statement, the spokesperson dressed up the incident as Bush’s way of offering “humor”.
“President Bush would never – under any circumstance – intentionally cause anyone distress, and he most sincerely apologizes if his attempt at humor offended Ms. Lind.”, said the statement.
President Bush pushed conservative Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas into the High Court in 1991, despite a former Thomas staffer, Anita Bryant, publicly testifying during confirmation hearings that Thomas had sexually harassed her when she worked for him.
