Majority of Houston Texans Players Kneel For Anthem, Days After Team Owner Called Players “Inmates”

The majority of the Houston Texans squad took a knee during the National Anthem today. The team is on the road playing against Russell Wilson and the struggling Seattle Seahawks.

The Texans’ owner, Bob McNair, referred to players who take a during the Anthem as “inmates” who shouldn’t be “running the prison”.

McNair contributed millions to President Donald Trump’s 2016 election campaign. He quickly apologized after his comments went public.

It was reported that many Texans players had considered walking out of a team meeting in the aftermath of the comments; at least one player skipped team practice altogether.
