Throwback Thursdays…Jodeci: Cry For You

Chart-topping, legendary group Jodeci took the world by storm in 1991 when they dropped their monster debut album, Forever My Lady. The group became instant hit-makers and trendsetters, and immediate icons.

Two years after they changed the game with Lady, the quartet was back with another musical beast: Diary of A Mad Band.

The group’s sophomore album featured what would become one of the group’s signature classics, Cry For You.

Jodeci disbanded in 1996, then re-formed after 2001 with some modifications and some troubles.

Some of the members reportedly battled with alcohol abuse and other things, according to rumors.

Fans are hoping rumors of a Jodeci reunion tour are real. The group has performed sporadically since their well-received appearance at the 2014 Soul Train Awards.

Jodeci is one of the most influential music groups of all time, and is credited with inspiring and or paving the way for a number of artists, and are also credited as founders of street-influenced R&B and Hip Hop Soul.
