Trump Associates INDICTED As Russia Influence Probe Intensifies

Two of President Donald Trump’s associates–former campaign chairman Paul Manafort and former campaign official Rick Gates–have been indicted on federal charges related to a special investigation that is looking into Trump campaign ties to Russia’s confirmed effort to influence the 2016 election.

The charges include money laundering.

In related news, a former Trump campaign foreign policy adviser–George Papadopoulos –has actually pleaded guilty to making a false statement to the FBI about his own interactions with Russian officials.

The indictments and guilty plea raise the stakes in the investigation, which is still underway.

Its a probe that has been ongoing for months. Many analysts believe investigators are trying to make the correlation between even higher ranking members of Trump’s team and Russian influence peddlers.

Democrats on Capitol Hill have stated they hope the investigation ultimately leads to the impeachment of President Trump.

Meanwhile, some analysts believe investigators will try to get one or all of the men involved to implicate Trump or other White House officials in a conspiracy.
