In a candid, wide-ranging interview for the New York Times’ T Magazine, writer Dean Baquet sits down with music mogul Jay-Z and they discuss subjects that include race, O.J. Simpson, music, raising children in today’s Trumpified America–and even his mother’s sexuality.
He also touches a topic that was once on the minds of many fans: his alleged cheating on wife Beyonce.
Jay-Z admits there was trouble:
You know, most people walk away, and like divorce rate is like 50 percent or something ’cause most people can’t see themselves. The hardest thing is seeing pain on someone’s face that you caused, and then have to deal with yourself.
Rumors had swirled around the couple’s relationship, with allegations that Jay had been stepping out on Bey.
The rumor mill also had them living in separate homes at one point, although they recently purchased a multi-million dollar California mansion together.
Meanwhile, Jay-Z’s interview is a very insightful, 35 minute session.
