Longtime NBC anchor Matt Lauer has been given the axe by the network, as he becomes the latest top-name media personality to be accused of not being able to contain his lust in the workplace.
NBC sent out a tweet early Wednesday morning informing viewers that Lauer–who had been with NBC since 1994–had been “terminated” due to a “detailed complaint” from a colleague.

“On Monday night, we received a detailed complaint from a colleague about inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace by Matt Lauer,” Andrew Lack, the NBC News president, said in a memo to staff.
Lack said the allegation was reviewed and found to be a “clear violation” of the company’s workplace standards, so Lauer had to go.
“While it is the first complaint about his behavior in the over 20 years he’s been at NBC News, we were also presented with reason to believe this may not have been an isolated incident.” (Italics mine)
Lauer’s Today Show co-anchors found out about his dismissal minutes before airing.
Lauer had been a co-host of the Today Show since 1997.
By the way, Lauer and his wife have allegedly been living separately for months.
He now joins an infamous and growing club of influential, deep-pocketed, alleged pervs who have watched as their uncontrollable libido leads them to losing a big payday: Bill O’Reilly; Bill Cosby; Harvey Weinstein; Charlie Rose; and others.
