Postal Worker Killed At Work: Young Woman Had Worked There Only A Month

Federal authorities are investigating the shocking shooting death of a young woman who worked at an Atlanta-area post office.

The woman, who was shot last Tuesday, but died Sunday night, was wrapping up work at the post office located at 2724 Wesley Chapel Road in Lithonia, which is 10 miles east of Atlanta, when a witness says she was approached by a man who had been hanging out at the laundromat next door–possibly waiting for her–meaning the victim may have known her killer.

The witness told local media that the man confronted the young woman and fired around four shots–with at least one entering her head, ultimately killing her.

The shooter has not been identified.

The victim had worked at the post office for only a month.
