Update On Cousin Stizz Concert Shooting: Two Homicide Victims Were Aspiring Rappers, Hype Men

The two men who were shot and killed overnight at the Masquerade nightclub at Atlanta’s Underground have been identified as hype men for Cousin Fizz, and were also up-and-coming rappers in their own right.

According to reports, the two men who had had been getting the crowd going and were there as performers as well, were waiting to re-take the stage when they got into an argument with a man who would end up becoming their killer.

Officials identified a 21-year-old man from Florida, Ewell Ynoa, as one of the victims, and Giovan Diaz from Massachusetts as the other.

Ewell performed under the stage name Wells TK; Diaz’s social media list him as LukeWarm88.

The two young men were very close friends who routinely performed together.

As hype men, it would have been customary for the men to go back and forth from the stage and elsewhere. Burt according to witnesses, that itself was a problem for the still-unidentified gunman, who fired the fatal shots after arguing with both men.

Both Giovan’s and Wells‘ social media pages reveal two ambitious rap artists who were trying to make a run at a come up in the industry.

A man named Curtis Kariuki  posted a tribute to the slain rappers, whom he called two of his “best friends”.

The assailant was not captured and the police investigation continues.

The owners of the Masquerade nightclub also declined to comment to local media.

Last night was the worst night of my entire life. There are absolutely no words to describe how I’m feeling. l lost two of my best friends last night, both passing away in my arms one at a time. It’s crazy because moments before the shooting went down we were having by far the most fun we’d ever had. l had never seen wells & lukewarm so happy in my entire life. They were the star of the show, they were leading a crowd of 100+ people putting smiles on everyone’s faces! Luckily l was able to capture that special moment on video. Then a few moments after it happened. l feel almost as if they had a special celebration before they left. To all that had the honor of knowing my brothers, just know we would talk every single night now matter how far away we were about life & what we wanted, our dreams & vision. We had it all planed out. l know if it were me they would have carried out EVERYTHING that l believed in, so I’m going to do the same. The @livelifewells & @lukewarm88 legacy will forever live on. l promise. @hotrnboyz
