Former Trump Aide Pleads Guilty To Lying, Now “Cooperating” With Special Fed Prosecutor

A former member of President Donald Trump’s Cabinet pleaded guilty today to a federal charge of lying to the FBI about conversations with Russia’s ambassador.

According to CNN, Michael Flynn, who had been Trump’s national security adviser, is also cooperating with the special prosecutor who is looking into allegations that members of Trump’s inner circle may have colluded with Russia to interfere with the 2016 election.

Flynn’s conviction, and news that he is working with the feds, has many political watchers waiting to see if Flynn may implicate other, more prominent White House figures.

The White House released a statement following Flynn’s conviction that read in part:

“Nothing about the guilty plea or the charge implicates anyone other than Mr. Flynn”.
