Omarosa is leaving the Trump White House. According to reports, the former reality TV star has tendered her resignation and will leave her post next month.
Omarosa had been employed as Trump’s “director of communications for the White House Office of Public Liaison”. What Omarosa actually appeared to be doing was going from talk show to talk show, arguing with various interviewers in defense of her boss’s controversial views and comments.
Officially, Omarosa “resigned yesterday to pursue other opportunities,” so said Sarah Huckabee Sanders, White House Press Secretary in a statement.
Its unclear what those other opportunities may be, though. Maybe a tell-all book?
“We wish her the best in future endeavors and are grateful for her service”, Sanders finished.
Pretty, intelligent, and possessing a fiery disposition, Omarosa, 43, quickly rose to prominence on NBC’s The Apprentice, and its successor, Celebrity Apprentice, where she worked with Donald Trump.
Omarosa’ departure may have been months in the making. According to media reports, Omarosa frequently bumped heads with White House staff and was criticized by Trump insiders for bringing 39 people from her bridal party to take photos in the Rose Garden.
Side note: Omaros’s resignation comes immediately after Doug Jones won Alabama’s special Senate election last night.
Her resignation is effective January 2018.
