Media Queen Oprah Winfrey is putting y’all on notice that she won’t be challenging Donald Trump for President in 2020:
“I’ve always felt very secure and confident with myself in knowing what I could do and what I could not,” Auntie Oprah told InStyle Magazine. “And so it’s not something that interests me. I don’t have the DNA for it.”
“I met with someone the other day who said that they would help me with a campaign. That’s not for me.”
After her highly praised speech at the recent Golden Globes Awards ceremony, in which she touched heavily on race and gender equality, speculation mounted that Oprah would challenge President Trump in 2020.
But Oprah seems to be closing that door.
Meanwhile, a number of polls showed Oprah would likely defeat Trump in a presidential face-off.
Many had hoped Oprah would tap into her global fame, popularity, and immense wealth to launch a bid to become the first female, and first female African American, to become POTUS.
