Houston rapper Lil Troy, who exploded onto the rap scene on the strength of his hit 1999 track, “Wanna Be A Baller”, has died, according to reports.
“Baller” would be Troy’s only major hit, and was the main track off his debut album, Sittin’ Fat Down South, an album which went nearly double platinum.
Meanwhile, “Baller” would go on to become one of Hip Hop’s most memorable tracks.
Few details are available at this time but Troy, real name Troy Lane Birklett, is reported to have died of a heart attack, according to the Houston Chronicle.
Rest In Peace Lil Troy.
