Pittsburgh rapper Mac Miller has died from an alleged overdose, according to reports. He was 26 years old.
Miller first emerged onto the music scene a decade ago and was an associate of fellow Pittsburgh rapper Wiz Khalifa.
Miller’s musical journey included teaching himself to play piano, guitar, drums, and bass.
Just last month, Miller released his fifth studio album, Swimming, which debuted at #3 on the Billboard 200 Chart.
Fame and success came quick and early, but Miller had his setbacks: Back in May, Miller was arrested and charged with allegedly knocking down a telephone pole while driving under the influence and then fleeing the accident.
Miller’s addiction reportedly led to the end of his relationship with singer Ariana Grande.
According to TMZ, a male acquaintance called 911 from the rapper’s home. Police and medical professionals declared him dead at the scene.
Condolences from fans and celebrity friends of the late rapper poured in on social media.
Khalifa offered this in memory of his friend:
Praying for Mac’s family and that he rest easy 🙏🏽👼🏽 #pgh #412— Wiz Khalifa (@wizkhalifa) September 7, 2018
