Atlanta rapper Young Thug has been indicted on drug charges in suburban Atlanta related to an arrest from 2017, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
The artist, whose legal name is Jeffery Lamar Williams, is charged in the DeKalb County case along with co-defendants Cedric Jones and rapper Sergio “Gunna” Kitchens, according to online court records. Williams’ eight felony charges involve various kinds of drugs, records show.
Brookhaven police pulled over a 2016 Mercedes-Benz Maybach on Clairmont Road after suspecting that its tint was too dark, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution previously reported. They arrested Young Thug, Gunna and Jones after allegedly finding the men with drugs and nearly $50,000 cash.–(Atlanta Journal Constitution)
The charges include possession of methamphetamine, hydrocodone and marijuana with the intent to distribute, as well as possession of amphetamine, a generic form of Xanax and codeine.
Thug was also indicted on possessing a firearm during the commission of a felony.
His attorney told local media that he will fight what he said is a “false allegation” against Thug.
An arraignment date in Dekalb County Court is set for October 9.
