News outlets are reporting the arrest of a man in connection with a string of pipe bomb packages sent via U.S. mail to multiple high-profile Democratic figures.
Federal law enforcement officials had been investigating a south Florida link to the bombings, of which no one was hurt, fortunately. Intended recipients of the deadly packages included former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama; former President Bill Clinton and former First Lady and Senator Hillary Clinton; billionaire investor George Soros; actor Robert De Niro; and New Jersey Senator Cory Booker.
California Congresswoman Maxine Waters was also targeted.
Several high-profile Republicans have claimed, without supporting evidence, that the pipe bombs were part of a hoax; Democratic officials have vehemently contested that notion.
Americans are now waiting for the identity of the newly arrested suspect to be revealed, along with a motive.
