Former President Barack Obama Coming To Florida To Campaign For Andrew Gillum and Bill Nelson

Former President Barack Obama is coming to town. The nation’s first and to date only African-American Commander-In-Chief is heading to Miami on Friday, 4 days before the final day that voters may cast ballots for the 2018 midterm elections.

Recent polls have shown both Gillum, who is Mayor of Tallahassee, and Nelson, Florida’s senior Senator, in close contests against current Governor Rick Scott and former Congressman Ron DeSantis.

President Donald Trump is slated to make two appearances in the state this week as well.

President Obama remains the most popular politician amongst Democrats nationwide, and the former POTUS won Florida in 2008 and 2012 as well.

Mayor Gillum is seeking to become the state’s first Black Governor, while Sen. Nelson is seeking a new term in the U.S. Senate.
