Gainesville Man Accused of Threatening GF With Knife, Beating Her–Because She ‘Let Him’ Run Out Of Cigarettes

Clayton Tate Neal, 43, is dead serious about his cigarettes. Which is why he’s now sitting up in the Alachua County Jail, charged with allegedly assaulting his girlfriend because she let him run of cigarettes, according to The Gainesville Sun.

Clayton Tate Neal, of an apartment at 3440 SW 28th Terrace in Gainesville, was arrested Wednesday on an aggravated assault charge, Gainesville police reports show.

Police say he hit the woman, with whom he’s in a long-term relationship, and stomped her foot Wednesday because she hadn’t cooked for him. Monday, police said, Neal got mad because she didn’t buy his smokes, so he put a knife to her throat and said “I’ll cut you up into little pieces,” the report said.–The Gainesville Sun

Neal is charged with aggravated assault with a weapon without itnent to kill and battery. His bail is set at $30,000.

By the way, cigarettes are considered contraband in the jail.
