Singer Mario has returned after several years in hiatus, and he’s been making the rounds promoting his new album, Dancing Shadows; its Mario’s first studio album in almost 10 years.
Last week, Mario performed new music from the album on The Wendy Williams Show.
In a recent interview with RapUp, the singer said he spent time in London putting together the new project.
But his time out of the spotlight hasn’t necessarily been rosy: Last year, Mario dealt with the passing of his mother, Shawntia Hardaway. Ms. Hardaway had battled addiction for years, and her son tried to help her through her ordeal. Mario’s struggle to get his mom clean was chronicled in a 2007 MTV documentary called, “I Won’t Love You to Death: The Story of Mario and His Mom.”
His mother’s struggles and her untimely passing undoubtedly played a part in his absence in the industry.
“The stars have aligned now for me to be in a place creatively where I feel great and I feel really confident and excited about releasing this new project to my fans.”
Mario’s female fans can take solace in knowing that, if they wanna link up with the handsome crooner, who turned 32 in August, a potential hook up might only be a Direct Message away. That’s because Mario admits that he don’t turn down any cyber nookie.
“I don’t use dating apps, but my Instagram is a dating app,” he told RapUp, adding, “You don’t need a dating app when your DMs is poppin’.”
Many artists choose not to disclose their Instagram hookups–no matter how often they occur. That is, until they are put on blast for creeping or something like that. Give Mario credit for being honest.
