Incarcerated NYC rapper Tekashi69 was moved because of threats made against him, not because he has given up his alleged gang life compadres, according to his lawyer.
Some media outlets have suggested Tekashi was moved to a new facility because he is snitching on his crew in order to gain favor in his case, but the rapper’s attorney, Lance Lazzaro, says his client is “Not giving states evidence.” Lazzaro assured us that the move was only “due to threats.”–The Blast
Last week, various blogs and gossip sites reported that Tekashi was moved to a newer facility that routinely houses defendants who are cooperating with police and prosecutors.
Tekashi69 has been jailed on federal racketeering and firearms charges. He pled not guilty to the 5 felonies in a court appearance today.
Bail was once again denied, and the rapper’s court date has been set for September 4, 2019–which could mean 69 could be sitting in jail for close to a year before any meaningful court date.
Prosecutors claim 69 is a prolific gangbanger who participated in a number of crimes, including violent ones.
69 fired his manager but a week later, both of them ended up jailed as co-defendants.
