Singing Legend Mary Wilson Dies At 81; Had Stopped Touring In 2011 As Health Reportedly Began To Decline

Legendary singer Mary Wilson, whose career spanned decades, passed away at her California home late Thursday night, according to press reports. She was 81.

Ms. Wilson reportedly passed away after a lengthy illness; an exact cause has not been disclosed.

Best know for Jazz classics such as “Guess Who I Saw Today”, and “You Don’t Know How Glad I Am,” Ms. Wilson also enjoyed a fruitful TV career, and appeared shows such as a prolific career in television, film and radio, and featured in shows such as  “The Cosby Show”, “The Parkers”, “Hawaii Five-O,” and ”Police Story.”

A family statement said no funeral service will be held, but her life will be celebrated at a memorial service in February, according to IBTimes.com.

Ms. Wilson officially stopped touring in 2011 as her health declined.
