Louisiana rap legend Mystikal could be poppin’ bottles from the luxury of his upscale home by the weekend. The incarcerated rapper, who turned himself in during summer 2017 after a woman claimed he and accomplices sexually assaulted her, has been sitting in jail ever since. But that could change in the next few days.
Mystikal reportedly has a new record deal that will allow him an advance that could help him jump out on the $3 million bail that he’s been sitting in jail on for close to a year and a half.
The record deal is based on previously unreleased material.
Mystikal was previously convicted of sexually assaulting his hairdresser and served 6 years in prison behind that charge.
He was released in 2010 but forced to register as a sex offender, where his address became public information–and where law enforcement officers–and allegedly groupies as well– reportedly stopped by frequently and unannounced.
Mystikal, birth name Michael Tyler, is expected to stand trial in May.
Mystikal has steadfastly proclaimed his innoncence.
