Lil Boosie Court Date Set For Dec. 19 After Metro Atlanta Drug, Gun Arrest

Rap superstar Lil Boosie has a December 19 court date, more than 8 months out from his arrest on drug charges in suburban Atlanta Monday.

Boosie, legal name Torrence Hatch, Jr., but who now performs as Boosie Badazz, and his homie, Antonio Allen, were stopped by cops in Newnan, Georgia, 25 miles southwest of Atlanta, after police say the white Dodge Charger the two were traveling in was observed swerving and nearly sideswiping another car.

Police soon searched the car and allegedly found drugs and a handgun that reportedly was under the passenger’s seat; Lil Bossie was driving the car.

Both men were arrested. Boosie has been charged with Possessing A Firearm During The Commission Of A Crime, two drug charges and a driving offense. His bail has been set at $3,500.

Allen faces similar charges and his bond has also been set at $3,500.

News reports widely circulated reports that Boosie’s arrested passenger was former NFL player Antonio Allen, which turned out to be untrue: The men just happen to share the same name.

Boosie has been to this rodeo before: prior to relocating to Atlanta, Boosie was jailed in Louisiana on murder charges that he was ultimately acquitted of.

Meanwhile, this is the second year in a row that Coweta county deputies have arrested a major rap artist: In 2018, Jim Jones was arrested after a bizarre police chase in the county.

Boosie and Allen are expected to make bail this morning.
