Veteran momager and industry figure Deb Antney was notoriously dropped as Nicki Minaj’s manager almost a decade ago, but you can’t get Deb to say anything naughty about Nicki today–or take sides in the long-brewing feud between Minaj, who Antney had a major hand in helping become a mega-successful rapper, and ongoing It Girl, Cardi B.
This is what Antney had to say in an interview with Bossip:
“Working with [Minaj] set a high bar with me for women. Period. I’m definitely not gonna say nothing negative against Nicki,” expressed Antney. “Nobody could ever get me to say something negative against Nicki, but you’re not gonna get me to say nothing negative about her. I’m not gonna say anything about Cardi B either because I’m pro-woman. Period.”
Antney has expressed a desire to see Minaj and Cardi collaborate, or at least bury the hatchet. That sentiment has been expressed by Atlanta rapper T.I. as well.
But its unclear if or when that will happen since the last time the two saw each other in public, Cardi allegedly hurled her high heeled shoe at Nicki.
Meanwhile, Antney has referred to Minaj as her “first born” success story; Antney has worked with or managed several big Hip Hop names including Gucci Mane and French Montana, who Antney successfully in court for $2 million in 2018 over old contract issues.
Antney is also rapper Waka Flocka’s mama.
