Kobe Bryant Death Stuns Nation

The tragic death of Kobe Bryant and his teen daughter Gianna on Sunday shocked and mortified the entire nation, with reverberations felt around the world.

Questions still remain as to how the tragedy occurred in which Bryant, 41, died after a helicopter he and Gianna, 13 who, by all accounts, was a gifted basketball player in her own right, were traveling in went down.

Seven other passengers perished in the copter, which reportedly crashed into a mountain. Though a conclusive finding has yet to be determined, reports indicate the copter may have crashed due to visibility problems: Reportedly, the Los Angeles area was smothered in a dense fog that also slowed rescue and police copters from accessing the crash scene.

Social media has been inundated with tributes and remembrances of Bryant since the news of his passing hit the Web.

News of Bryant’s passing spread quickly, and conversations about Bryant went on throughout the day across the country; clearly, everybody knew Kobe Bryant.

Presidential candidates, including President Trump and former President Barack Obama, all offered tweets regarding Bryant, offering condolences to his family.

Though he was drafted by the Charlotte Hornets in 1996, Bryant played the lion’s share of his 20 year NBA career with the Los Angeles Lakers, where he helped lead the team to a series of championships.

Devastatingly, Bryant’s untimely passing leaves his wife, Vanessa, with the duty of raising 3 kids without her husband–and also leaves Vanessa without her eldest child.
