Did Nicki Minaj Throw Shade To Late Civil Rights Icon Rosa Parks In Song Lyrics?

Nicki Minaj has been kinda quiet for a minute, but the Queens rap queen is now trending over her choice of lyrics in a new song called “Yikes” that name drops Rosa Parks, the late civil rights icon who famously refused to give up her seat to a White man on a segregated Alabama public bus.

But not everybody thinks the lyrics are flattering to the late Ms. Parks, who was once labeled “The Mother Of The Civil Rights Movement”.

In a snippet she recorded in-studio, Nicki raps, “Woke up, the price of coke up/ I just hit em with the low cut then call my folks up.” She continued spitting her bars, “This is a mac truck not a black truck/ When we move tell ’em back up/ Click the clack…

“All you b***hes Rosa Parks, uh-oh get your a** up!”

And Black Twitter has something to say about that.

Not everybody received the song negatively of course, as Nicki commands a massive and devoted following she likes to call “Barbs”.

Nicki Minaj, 37, made a return to social media last week after not sharing a post since November.

Rosa Parks would have turned 107 years old today.
